I went on an expedition to The Arctic. I thought it would be a great adventure. I soon realized it was more than that...
It all started when I was in an adventurous mood, as always. I thought, "Hey, how about I go to the Arctic to find all sorts of new things?" I bought my plane ticket and went out. I brought my adventure gear and my survival kit with me, I knew I would need it. I managed to find a nice spot where everything was out in the open, it was beautiful. WHen I was out camping once though, I sensed something was wrong.... I woke up from my slumber to find that I wasn't alone... I looked up with drowsy eyes, I tried to rub the blurriness away. When everything came into focus, I saw a pack of Arctic Wolves. I tried staying as calm as possible, knowing I could be seriously damaged. I backed away carefully, assuring I would not alarm the wolves. As I proceeded back, a certain wolf caught my eye. She was a sleek one, she moved calmly and slyly. I spoke quietly,"I do not wish to harm you. I have only come for an adventure." Then the wolf that caught my eye walked slowly towards me. I thought it was the end for me... Just then she spoke...
She said," Hello young traveler, my name is Artemis. This is my pack. We do not wish harm either, we wish to welcome you." I stood there frozen solid, not just because of the weather though. I shook my head is astonishment. Did I just hear a wolf talk!? I stuttered shyly," Um.. hello Artemis, my name is Leila." Artemis then said," Well, for a girl whose name means dark as night, you seem to be very bright." I said shyly,"Thank you." I let out a small smile. Artemis welcomed me to the pack. All the wolves were very cheerful and social. In the morning Artemis came up to me and said,"Leila, we seem to have a liking for you. To officially welcome you to the pack, we'd like to give you a present." Artemis told me the ritual. I thought it over in my head. "Do I really want to do this?" I thought over some more. I decided to let faith take action. Artemis then said,"Now, this might hurt a bit, but, when it's over, you'll feel great and rejuvenated." She then made a small bite on my finger, it only felt like a nip, so it didn't hurt. I got a small bandage from my pack to wrap it up. Later that night, I felt something different. I looked around. I felt up to touch my head, I felt something soft and pointed. I took a small mirror I had packed. I aimed it at my head. I had ears! I turned around and to my attention, I noticed I had also grown a tail! Artemis came up to me and said,"Welcome to the pack." She then smirked, it was the last thing I noticed before everything changed forever...
