In the far future, the Earth will be home to a rather enjoyable utopia where the military is focused more on scientific breakthroughs than war. With the discovery of a way to keep track of one's physical well being, they also need someone to test it. Being the only one to have any experience with this type of technology, a man under the code name Doomdestroyer is chosen. He is asked the name of this suit be, mainly because the real name of it is so long and too scientific for the public, and replies, "Doom." The scientists then asks whether it is shorter for something. "No. I called it that because if this gets opened to the public, for public use, they will not like it and it will bring doom upon our society," he says. Heeding his word they do not produce any for public use, only for use in military medicine. With nothing left to do, the scientists decide to try their hands at teleportation. They seem to make speedy work of getting a pretty good working prototype that actually can teleport people and objects from Earth, to the Moon, to even the colony on Mars and it's 2 moons. Thinking they have nothing left to test or look over, they shut it down until the next day. Or so they thought. When all the scientists have gone to their sleeping quarters on Mars' moon, Deimos, something evil emerges from the portal in which they were using as teleportation. Without warning, nor the knowledge of what is happening, society falls apart at the seems due to this sudden onslaught of evil creatures. All the scientists are dead now, and there's no real military trained for combat, so one man named Jak Ratchet decides to try and figure out what is going on inside the scientific military base just outside his home town, armed with only a pistol and some brass knuckles, he makes it inside, somehow, and manages to find one Doom suit left. While on his way out toward the teleporters, he sees one of the bodies, presumed dead, move. It's a military man armed with a semiautomatic rifle. The bloody and battle beaten man stands up and looks Jak dead in the eyes, and to Jak's horror, he realizes that that man staring at him is undead. Out of fear he shoots the undead man right between the eyes and continues on. That is where this story ends, and another begins.
