Adobe Photoshop CS5 its $200 on the adobe website so its pretty pricey.

but a great alternative would be www.minershoes.com/ or on the official minecraft forms they have lots of skin edit programs that are pretty great!

anyway if you have Photoshop i used the pencil tool and a combination of 4-5 layers and the burn and dodge tools

photoshop takes time to learn and navigate ive been using it for 6-7 years now but for just minecraft skins its pretty easy to do but if you want attention to detail and high quality skins photoshop is the way to go! once you know where everything is you'll have skins flying everywhere but ur computer will have to have the right specs to support photoshop its a big program id look into it . i deffinitly suggest it

just download a skin from the site whatever one you want and open it in photoshop then click the magnify glass in the bottom left and right click the picture or the skin and click fit on screen. then the pencil tool is under the brush tool on the left side. and the burn and dodge tool is again along the left just hover your mouse over the icons and it will tell u what they are but yeah good luck!!
