Following a brutal campaign hunting humans upon the high seas, Captain Cog's stops to port in a stronghold known only to a few daring seafarers. Nestled between daunting spires of stone, and buried deep beyond the dreaded Deadman Strait. "No one will follow me here." Captain Cogs thought, as its depth within the strait is far beyond what any sane sailor would dare to sail, and its location so remote. Despite reservations from his crew, Captain Cogs braved the unchartered waters with little worry of what lay beyond the mountains. After a rough 3 days of wood scraping, splintering, and squealing against rock laden with driftwood torn from unlucky sailors prior, Captain Cog's reached his destination. A towering mass of broken bricks and foregone hopes, walled off by shipwrecked merchant ships, and fishing trawlers, those unaware of the passes dangers. Hidden and untouchable this ship graveyard promised a barrier from The Conglomerate's fleet.
In evading the Navy, Captain Cogs failed to notice a much bigger threat to his captaincy burning below decks than the gunships he feared. A mutiny had been organizing long before Captain Cogs entered the strait, fueled by the losses undertook during the gamble, the crew was furious. The night of the crews arrival at the stronghold, the mutineers snuck into their Captain's quarters. As the ringleader began to plunge a letter opener from the desk into Captain Cog's steam valve, the crew takes a deep breath.
CRASH!!!
The letter opener slips out of his hands, clanging to the floor as a hole is opened in the side of the quarter. A cannonball interrupted the coup, startling Captain Cogs awake. A struggle ensues as the captain realizes his crew's betrayal and reaches for his rifle, pulled just out of reach by the freezing grip of the ocean.
A once feared crew consumed by the depths, too busy infighting to realize the threat which had been following since they entered the inlet. A scouting crew of the Conglomerate had been tailing them, sending a signal to the main fleet to enter once word of the mutineer reached command.
Captain Cog's crew remains at the bottom of the ocean. However, some believe Captain Cogs resurfaced on shore, still sailing under the new moniker "Captain Cogwater" as a single man terror on the high seas.
