No wrong deed is reasonable, but what truly defines what is "wrong"? When you look at Carista, the legendary sky pirate known as the "Iron Harpy", from the common folks' view, all you will see is the most dangerous criminal of our time, or the embodiment of madness and carnage. However, the more you understand her story, more you will see where "wrong" becomes a blur.

As a young suburban girl, sole sister among five sons, she already grew tough and tomboy-ish. But the women's hearts are full of desire for mystery and wonder, and one day. a dashing swashbuckler stole her heart. Truth be told, she might have done the same to him, as those are the types that flirt and walk away. Instead, he convinced her to run away with him, to search for adventure. So she did, and so began her tragedy.

Few weeks in the sky, and she met with a much harder reality than back in her guetto. Pirates attacked the ship she was, and among valuables and hostages, the pirates recognized her swashbuckler. To save his life, as the coward he truly was, he offered... hers. He met the cold fate of death just after the bargain, a painful one, but not as great as the pain of betrayal at the heart of the poor Carista. Sadly, she could not be more wrong.

When you live in a town, there are always people around, but when you are flying above the clouds, rarely someone will hear you cry. And she cried, screamed, cursed and prayed during all her years of violence and torture. She was sold and bargained from pirate ship to pirate ship, as a maid, a slave, a pleasure toy. Until the fateful day she ended on The End, the ship of the dreaded BloodStorm, the most inhuman sky pirate that ever existed... well, before her, I mean.

Yes, she suffered on board of The End, and even got her eye ripped off because of dissobedience. The legends says it was when she snapped. She wouldn't say a word anymore after that. Not a single change in her expression. She became cold and lifeless - and that bored BloodStorm up to the point that he threw her off the ship in mid flight. Of course we know she survived. Better would be if she did not, but she did.

I believe you heard of Phasewalker, the steam mender, right? Sadly, I know the truth of his fate. As an Aether adventurer, he developed a lot of our current technology, and helped all civilization to move to the floating islands when darkness overcame the overworld. Truly a father of mankind, but he would not accept coin or rule for it. His was an adventurous heart, and after all help was done, he left in silence. Well, when you are an adventurer, one adventure will claim our lifes, for sure. His... was claimed by Carista. That day she felt, she felt on his personal floating island. She injured her leg severely, exposed fracture, and had to amputate it. Phasewalker, as kind as he was, treated her wounds and even gave her a pneumatic protesis to replace her lost lef. She repayed his kindness with... "love", and over the year, learned all she could from him. And in one fateful day, he saw her install blades in shape of a talon in her protesis. Before he could ask anything, cold as the iron she held, she stabbed him in the heart and left him dead behind without saying a single word.

The thing is... she was truly mad! She hated men more than anything, and would burn the world to make then all go. Soon the world learned of the woman who leaped into pirate ships in midair, with a cloak of feathers and a talon shaped leg, leaving no male alive behind; The first mentions of the "Iron Harpy". She was, in fact, hunting down every single one of the man who did her harm in her life. The expectation of bloody vengeance is what drove her to live day after day.

Eventually, only BloodStorm was left. She might wanted to savour it. She confrounted him right in Jaggoka, the very main Pirate Island, inside the Dark Freedom Pub. Their duel was so devastating that no one could watch from near, or would be shield or target for their blades. At the end, BloodStorm claimed a last piece of her, a hand, but she claimed his life. Legend says that even nowadays, he's still alive, but without a single limb, locked in her chambers for a daily torture routine. But that much I could not confirme, sadly. What IS a fact is that, from that day, not a single sky pirate in the world would dare to dissobey the Iron Harpy, and her name only grew.

Everyone knows the tales. How she commanded the pirates against the Jarsaramas, and drove those carnivorous whales from the skies for good; or how she erradicated the Kindgom of Lemaras, leaving not a single soul alive; even about her dives into the overworld to face the guardians and emerge to trade the legendary Prismarine stones for the nations riches; to finally how she piloted the legendary Ark of Nightsky against the ManyDragon, the beast within a beast within a beast within a beast, and now bestows its tiniest head at her shoulder.

What motivates her? I don't know. I would bet madness. In my darkest hour, I gambled my life to learn her story, and ended up losing both legs to her blade, but she told me her story, and now I know all I told you. More, to be honest, but I trust I deserve more coins for that. For now, all I can say to you is that she is a menace to all of us. A girl that have been wronged, and learned to survive by her will of distributing her pain to others. She didn't killed the Jarsaramas or the ManyDragon because of heroism, no. She want us to know that she is THE most terrifying beast that lies above the clouds, and that we should always fear her judgement. Because for her, everything... is wrong and deserves to die.
