A long time ago the world was full of blinding color, the world was happy and new, dragons were everywhere, all different, all unique. Everything was colorful and fun Until the human s arrived in the dragon land. At first, the humans didn’t seem like such a threat, they were small and weak. But the humans advanced later in time, they feared and hated the dragons. Even though the dragons were peaceful and only a few attacked humans,
the humans wanted all the dragons dead, so they started the crusade, and soon, the dragons were nearly wiped out, they didn’t want to fight, but as more of the dragons fled and retreated to the shadowy underground of the world. But sadly, because of this,
color from the earth faded, like the earth itself was shriveling up like a flower.
The dragons retreated, and with the world, they all lost color, they now live in rural, dark areas. And now the stories about dragons once roaming the earth has been turned into unbelievable legends, but still, there’s people who believe that dragons and magic are indeed alive... and they are just hidden.
and they are right, dragons only come out into the known world on the darkest nights, where they look at what their world has come to, and they silently wait for the day the humans either might understand,
or perish because of what they’ve done.

For the grayscale contest, I decided to go with a dragon as an attempt to go out of my comfort zone for this contest, I’m pretty okay with the result, given that it was really hard not to have all of the colors blend in together, and still try to make it interesting with the grayscale palette, also I’m sorry the front side looks so bland and boring, honestly that’s the part of the skin I dislike :c oh well
