The following are excerpts from the Esmerian Archives. The entries below detail the involvement of the Second Demigod, Macto, in the Sky War.

Third Sun, 2764:

Evomere, the God of the Void, grew resentful of his realm. It had been nearly two thousand years since he had seen the light of the sun and freedom from his endless prison of blackness below Esmer. As his hatred of the Void swelled, his hatred for his sister, Caela, grew with it. It was she who had imprisoned him there, after all, for his treachery during the Cycle of Erravi... [See Ninth Sun, 936]

...Unbeknownst to Caela, Evomere had been gradually gaining power in the solitude of the Void. It was at Third Sun, 2764, that Evomere broke free of his magical bidings. With his freeing, many clandestine groups of Evomerian supporters came to light, the most prominent of which included the Children of Evomere and the infamous Nine Sages. These groups and their followers left entire towns and cities in ruin, ransacking the whole of Esmer for roughly ten years prior to what is officially recognized as the start of the Sky War...

First Sun, 2773:

...The most prominent and destructive of the raids led by advocates of the Nine Sages took place on 34 Eighth Sun, 2773. Members of the Nine's inner circle including Teron Molir and Fero Berutis commanded a platoon of an estimated 200 additional members of the Nine to march on the Capitol. It was on that fateful night that the Last King of Esmer, Eran Luxid, was beaten senseless, dragged from the Capitol Palace, and beheaded along with his son on public display in the Capitol Gardens, prompting the Call to Arms and what many historians recognize to be the official beginning of the Sky War. The Capitol was sacked and the Esmerian government quickly crumbled under the influence of the Nine Sages and the Children of Evomere... [See Twelfth Sun, 2775]

Seventh Sun, 2892:

...With no governmental control over Esmer and the morale of the Caelian forces at an all-time low after the centennial of the Sky War's beginning and especially at the loss of the Battle of Eastport, Caela first realized the gravity of Evomere's power and influence over his followers...

...As if in an attempt to drive the nail into the coffin of Caela's defeat, Evomere committed again the act that caused Caela to banish him to the Void over two thousand years prior. He raised a mortal Esmerian to Godly status by dividing his own power between himself and the mortal, who in this case happened to be the leader of the Children of Evomere, Macto...

...Evomere commanded Macto to destroy the remainder of the Caelian forces and seal their victory in the Sky War. However, Macto's power was far more destructive than Evomere predicted, and not only did Macto eviscerate nearly all of the remaining Caelian forces, but also leveled most of the mainland of Esmer in the process. All life in Esmer was nearly wiped out by Evomere's foolishness, as Caela foresaw two thousand years earlier during the Cycle of Erravi. Macto continued on his path of unrelenting destruction, fearlessly leading on the Children of Evomere, who had since took to calling themselves the Children of Macto...

...Caela, attempting to cease the destruction of the entirety of Esmer, took up council with the God of Magic, Artemis. Together, they created the Seals; relics of incredible magic power to act as keys to an impenetrable mystic prison in which they planned to trap Evomere and Macto...

Ninth Sun, 2903:

...During the Battle of Worlds, the final battle of the Sky War, Artemis betrayed Caela, weakening her magical potency just long enough for Evomere to destory her. At this development, the dwindling remainder of Caelian forces officially disbanded. The Seals were presumably destroyed or hidden, and Evomere took control of Esmer as once his sister did. He named Macto the First Demigod of Evomere, and placed him at the top of the new Evomerian government... [See First Sun, 2941]

Eighth Sun, 2942:

...After forty years of ruling, Macto had not ceased his iron grip on the lands of Esmer, calling for the public execution of opponents of the Children of Macto and Evomere's reign. The people of Esmer fell into poverty, sickness, and hunger as never before, while the Children of Macto and the priveleged few that resided in the New Capitol lived in opulence. Darkness characteristic of the Void itself fell over Esmer, and would not lift for millenia to come...

This concludes the excerpts from the Esmerian archives detailing Macto's involvement in the Sky War. More information on Macto, Demigods, and the Esmerian Governmental System may be found among these entries to the Esmerian Archives:
