minus the top of the head shading. work on it
ive tried so many times and I just can't shade the tops of heads I'm sorry xD
I've come to learn that the trick is to connect the textures. It's a tad difficult to explain, but when shading the top of the head the first instinct most possess is to make the top of the head the lightest area because artists are aware that the top of the head will be struck by light the majority of the time.
The top of the head should actually possess a darker area, because the hair is growing out from the roots.
The outermost pixels of the top of the head should be the same colors as the pixels placed on the sides and back of the head, the darkest area will lie somewhere in the middle.
Of the course, the way the top of the head is shaded will vary from skin to skin but as a general rule it is best that the "outermost pixels of the top of the head" align with the pixels below it.
Also me: I'm so not winning. XD
(Also tip: it'll look better with 3-pixel arms!)
(my skin maker won't allow that format which is really frustrating ;; I use a low-quality mobile app, that's probably why XD)
