So this is my entry for the Arctic Creatures Skin Contest; I hope you like it. I will be adding a background and editing some parts of the skin ( I completely failed on the outfit design. I'll try to make it better, somehow :L ).

Background:

The Fallen Arctic Queen; some say that she has a heart made of stone. Others would say that she doesn't have one at all. No brave soul would ask her what her true name was. She prefers to think that she doesn't have one.

The queen walked through her castle. A little girl gave her a flower crown and the petals were made of lapis. She smiled and placed it on her head. Of course there were all those times when the Queen was caring and loving, but everyone had their secrets.

The Arctic Queen used to rule in the Taiga, where everyone in her kingdom would respect and fulfill her every command and grant her every wish. No one objected, of course. They all knew what would happen if they didn't. The peasants of the kingdom have only seen this once, and pray that it doesn't happen again.

They all knew of her skills in combat, and no one would dare fight her, even just for training. Then one day, in castle, two of the guards who were supposedly to be 'defending' the castle were found sleeping on the job. The Queen did not realize this until a black arrow, the tip made of a type of dark ice, skimmed past her and made a dent in the back of castle walls.

No one must be defending the castle walls, she thought. Those lazy, good-for-nothing guards! She took another look at the castle gates and approached it. In the distance, she saw archers standing on mountain peaks, readying their bows, and soldiers marching on foot, preparing for battle.

There hasn't been as invasion in decades.. Who could be attacking? The Queen thought. 

"Ready yourselves and prepare for battle! Hide the children and elderly. Stay on your guard!"

The Queen rushed to her throne room and took her blades and daggers. She had her diamond sword in one of the chests in her bedroom. She held it tightly in her hand, and rushed to the castle walls. Her archers prepared themselves in the castle towers.

She commanded the gates to be open and led her warriors to battle, with archers backing them up and dealing some heavy damage. The queen put her life on the line, and stood in front of a severely injured warrior, refusing to move away from her position.

She slashed and stabbed her enemies. An archer shot an arrow in her leg, but didn't even bother to notice the pain. As her allies fell, she knew that she could not save their lives. As more of her people were dying, rage took over and she slaughtered everyone she could reach.

Some of the enemies saw her strength and decided to back off. Sprinting ahead of them and slashing through their legs, she disabled more and more of her enemies. The queen killed all of the intruders.

But at what cost, she thought. Most of my people won't make it through tomorrow. There's just not enough potions and food for everyone. The last of the pigs and cows have been slain. My castle's walls and towers were torn down. And at night, the mobs come out. I guess this is it. Nothing will ever be the same again.

The Fallen Arctic Queen took her diamond blade and stabbed it in the nearly frozen snow. Everyone I knew and loved are dead. This place will only give me bad memories. She walked on, away from her castle and never looked back.
