This is Max Tennyson, or "Grandpa" as Ben and his sister call him. It was really just kind of a test and you know, a new skin for the people. (The 3D layer is used for his "ridges" in his hair. ) P.S. I'm not good at outside of arms/legs or insides of arms/legs... I need help to see if the way I did them was ok..?

(UPDATED: Fixed the arms and legs, thanks to RainbowSheep's comment.)

I can't figure out the darn pictures. :(
Or I'd put a referance pic up..

Hmmm, I have to say that this could use a good deal of work.
First off, the pants are VERY saturated and need an increase in contrast. Secondly, if you haven't done so already, try hue shifting the colors. It'll give the skin a lot more color depth.

Finally, try to avoid perfect grays (fully desaturated colors). I talk about that in my tutorial.
Shading looks really good however.

Ok, Thank you for all of this. I still am having issues with the palettes and hue shifting, which Is why I seem to do a lot better when a palette is given to me. So the shading is ok, thanks. I'll work on my palettes now.
