This is a Selkie, a folk creature that looks just like a normal seal but can take off its sealskin and walk on land in human form. However, if they are unable to return to the sea because of someone stealing their sealskin, they will become very sad. Their need for the sea is so great that If they ever find their lost skin, they will immediately head to the nearest beach and put it on, swimming away forever, even if they have to leave their half-human children behind.

Her Sealskin is based on pictures of Grey Seals. This skin is designed so that people can use it in full on seal form or load it in a skin editor and delete as much of the outer layer as they want, to show her face, make her a seal mermaid, or a full-on human maiden wrapped in a sealskin. This is my first officially posted skin that I made. I hope people like it and that I didn't accidentally break any contest rules. I tried hard not to. Please comment.
