Well, I start with a light color in the middle of the hair, skin, shirt etc. then I put some color in the middle. Then I make the color slightly darker and put that around the lighter color. Then I keep making the color slightly darker and darker every time and put it around the color, then it's shaded! It's pretty simple if I could show you or tell you how, my friend picked it up right away!
