when it comes to detail i usually just like to think where actual shadows will be and how dark they will be, for example under the head and mid-inside the arms/legs are normally the darkest part! and i usually just add highlights in areas that need it/where it’s bland! also making the outer layer slightly lighter can add a lot of depth! sorry i got carried away lmao
at some point should probably learn to shade without the hue shifting tool cus i practically owe it my life bhcjgdf
