馬英九（1950年7月13日－），中華民國中國國民黨籍政治人物，第十二、十三任總統，生於英屬香港九龍油麻地，籍貫湖南省衡山縣，1952年隨雙親定居台灣^[1][2]，曾任總統府第一局副局長、行政院研考會主委、陸委會副主委、法務部長與台北市長等公職。在中國國民黨黨職方面也曾任副秘書長、副主席到黨主席等多項重要黨職。

2015年11月7日，時任中華民國總統馬英九在新加坡與現任中國大陸領導人、中共中央總書記習近平進行兩岸領導人會面，是兩岸隔海分治66年以來最高領導人首次會晤。



Ma Ying-jeou (Chinese: 馬英九; pinyin: Mǎ Yīngjiǔ; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Má Eng-kiú, [mà íŋtɕjòu]; born 13 July 1950) is a Taiwanese politician who served as the President of the Republic of China (ROC) from 2008 to 2016. His previous political roles include Justice Minister (1993–96) and Mayor of Taipei (1998–2006). He was also the Chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT) between 2005–2007 and 2009–2014.

Ma first won the presidency by 58.45% of the popular vote in the presidential election of 2008, and was re-elected in 2012 with 51.6% of the vote.^[1] He was sworn into office as president on 20 May 2008, and sworn in as the Chairman of the Kuomintang on 17 October 2009;^[2] he resigned as Chairman of Kuomintang on 3 December 2014.^[3] Ma's term as president saw an increase in economic and social connection with Mainland China. He became the first ROC Head of State to meet with a Communist Party General Secretarywhen he met Xi Jinping in Singapore in November 2015.
