Malistaire Drake is the former Death School professor at Ravenwood. After the death of his beloved wife, Sylvia, he mysteriously left Ravenwood.

In Marleybone, Wizards learn that Malistaire has hired a master thief, Meowiarty, to steal the Krokonomicon. He wants the Krokonomicon for the sole purpose of forcing the Dragon Titan to bring his wife back.

Malistaire's twin brother is the Myth School professor at Ravenwood, Cyrus Drake.
