~The HMS Lucille~

Far away on the planet of Belamun, empire ruled and war thrived. Meriwether Tobias Steward had an interesting life. Apprenticed at an early age to a Professor Cornelius Duncan Verne, he learned he was sensetive to the Arcane, and studied technology that used magic as it's power source, dubbed Arc-Tech. Always having a fascination in sailing, the young Meriwether was released from his original tutorship, and joined up to serve on a cargo ship, the Dominion HMS Far Dawn. He learned much about sailing, and his appetite was whetted for more adventure.
Eventually, he signed on the Navy of the Guardsmen of House Barclay, leaving his home in Libertania to join up and sail the skies and seas in hybrid ships. He served on the HMS Raging Storm, first as a gunman, and then as chief engineering officer. Eventually the ship was embroiled in a huge battle over and on the ocean against forces from the heretical House Iscariot; Demon worshippers who didn't recognize the authority of the Church, the ruling party of the Dominion. Tobias fought bravely during this battle, and during a crazy attempt to destroy an Iscariot ship from the inside, he was severly injured and captured, losing an arm and a leg. Iscariot researches put him to rigerious mental and physical torture, leading to a life long fear of certain elements of his imprisionment, before he was finally left for dead on an island. 
He was found by a patrol from House Gearheart, and returned to Libertania. Meeting back with his old Professor, they built for Tobias specialized Arc-Tech limbs to replace his lost ones. These limbs turned out to be one of Tobias' greatest boons. Tobias then left to find what work he could, and eventually, in a ridiculous happening of events, managed to steal a gunboat from House Gearheart, getting away scot free with his prize. Unfortunately, By this time, Professor Verne had died. This led to Tobias working on the ship alone to convert it to his liking, giving his vessel the name the HMS Lucille. He converted the gunboat (though it was a magnificant ship in his eyes) to use Arc-Tech to fly and sail, so he could operate it alone. He then went into private work, running cargo and serving as a freelance Captain for those who would pay. A good man deep down, but with an adventurous, rougish streak, Tobias Steward now sails and flies across Belamun, to the mystical island of Shuuja, to find what he may.
