Mankind was once young and innocent, living off the land in a once great wilderness. The clean, crisp air filled the lungs of young Mankind and he was inspired.
Over many years, Man progressed, building towns and cities, learning to farm, creating an industrial revolution... In all this time they forgot about their Earth and so callously poisoned their very own land.
Eventually, Man began to notice the land had changed. Crops no longer grew as large or as healthy, the people grew sick, and they knew that they had deal with their newfound issue: toxic sludge.
Mankind was quick to move it deep into the wild, far from their settlements to be forgotten. As they grew, the sludge, rot, and acid festered, loathed by the people. This is how Murk was born.
At first he did not understand.
Why must they leave me here? Am I so horrible?
He was only a child then, but many years passed and Murk began to understand that Man saw him as vile waste and had intentionally doomed him to die alone. The only time Murk saw them was when they dumped more of their trash in on top of him.
Murk was left like this for a very long time, waiting dor the way that Mankind would eventually face him. When the landfills overflowed, so did Murk, who began adorning his sludge with the bones of his victims.
Now we will always be together... You shall never flee me again.
