I really think you could work on picking colours, the amount of contrast between the highlights and the shades is way too much. It goes from an orange colour to a dark pink, it needs more of a transition rather than just a big change like that.

Actually, that was the idea, the contrast is high, and the colors are very fine for me.

It doesn't really make sense though, I don't see how a pink thing would have a really bright orange highlight.

I'm aware of that. But a pink object would not have an orange highlight, that is what doesn't make sense. The whole hue shift with this is gone way over board in my opinion.
