"Steampunk Ancient Egypt"
In this twisted reality the worlds history is reversed. In the beginning there was everything. Life was easy. Humans did not have to waste energy with day-to-day activities. Life was for entertainment.
However this quickly became an issue. Humans would become overweight and disease would spread. Mortality was low. This had to change.
Across the years humans started to degrade their technology and use their own strength and minds. One by one the countries of the world created dumps to be rid of this now unwanted technology. Robots, cores, all was thrown away.
Ores and metals had become rare. Labor worked on man-power and light was created using fire. Trees were used and replanted. Crops grew across the world. Slowly the human race became healthy and strong.
But the world seemed to be burning. The abandoned fuels and broken metal fed on the worlds atmosphere. They would not decompose as easily as crops. They simply lingered.
Icecaps melted. Some countries turned into desert. Others into a swamp, and over time the seas started to steam.
Steam was harvested and used as power. Unknown minerals became unearthed by the drastic changes in landscapes. As parts of the world burnt and starved and others were drowned - the humans decided the only way in which they could survive was via boats and airships.
Airships and boats would be large. Large enough to carry the citizens of a once prosperous country.
Ruled by Pharaoh Seqenemhat II, the Egyptians ruled the skies of the south. Seen as both exotic and fierce by the northern countries, the Egyptians airship was boastful in wealth. Shown by large pyramids and beautiful golden statues.
But of course, the world was still burning. Soon the seas would evaporate. Humankind must find a new source of energy and safety.
