When the contest theme was announced my mind instantly went to old movies, and from old movies to film noir.
Even if you don't know much about the genre it is likely that the tropes are familiar to you....
The rainy city, random jazz music and narration, the femme fatale, the mobsters and crooked cops and of course...
the detective.

This skin is designed to be a pastiche of the typical noir sleuth.
Even his name is a reference, "Philip" as in Philip Marlowe from "The Big Sleep", and "Spade" as in Sam Spade from "The Maltese Falcon" (one of my favourite films).

uhhh and "Brick" because he's a minecraft character, duh.

I also tried to create a chiaroscuro effect with the shading since that’s another noir convention. Hopefully it turned out ok.
