Russian Armed Forces Background:

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, commonly known as the Russian Armed Forces, are the military forces of the Russian Federation. They are divided into the Ground Forces, Navy, and Aerospace Forces. There are also two independent arms of service: Strategic Missile Troops and the Airborne Troops. Under the federal law of Russia, the Russian Armed Forces, along with the Federal Security Service (FSB)'s Border Troops, the National Guard, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD), the Federal Protective Service (FSO), the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), the Main Directorate of the General Staff (GRU) and the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM)'s civil defence form Russia's military services; and are under direct control of the Security Council of Russia.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are one of the largest military forces in the world. As of 2021, Russian Armed Forces strength counted over 1 million active duty personnel (the precise number, claimed by Presidential Decree, is 1,013,628 active duty military personnel and 889,130 civilian personnel), the fourth-largest in the world. Additionally, there are around 2 million voluntary reservists (Russian: мобилизационный людской резерв). The total number of citizens who can be used for mobilization deployment on an involuntary basis in the case of wartime mobilization (Russian: мобилизационный людской ресурс) amounts to 20 million. It is mandatory for all male citizens aged 18–27 to be drafted for a year of service in Armed Forces.

The Russian Armed Forces are the world's second-most powerful military, owning the largest stockpile of nuclear weapons in the world. The military budget of the Russian Federation was $61.7 billion in (2020–21), the fourth-highest in the world. It possesses the second-largest fleet of ballistic missile submarines, and is one of the only three nations operating strategic bombers, with the world's most numerous tank force, the second-most numerous air force and the third-most numerous naval fleet.

Russian Ground Forces Background:

The Russian Ground Forces (Russian: Сухопутные войска [СВ], romanized: Sukhoputnyye voyska [SV]), also known as the Russian Army (Russian: Армия России, romanized: Armiya Rossii), are the land forces of the Russian Armed Forces.

The primary responsibilities of the Russian Ground Forces are the protection of the state borders, combat on land, and the defeat of enemy troops. The President of Russia is the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Ground Forces is the chief commanding authority of the Russian Ground Forces. He is appointed by the President of Russia. The Main Command of the Ground Forces is based in Moscow.

Russian-Ukranian War/Invasion Background:

On 24 February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine in a major escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War that began in 2014. The invasion caused Europe's largest refugee crisis since World War II, with more than eight million Ukrainians fleeing the country and a third of the population displaced. The invasion also caused global food shortages.

In 2014, Russia invaded and annexed Crimea, and Russian-backed separatists seized part of the Donbas region of south-eastern Ukraine, consisting of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts, sparking a regional war. In 2021, Russia began a large military build-up along its border with Ukraine, amassing up to 190,000 troops and their equipment. In a televised address shortly before the invasion, Russian president Vladimir Putin espoused irredentist views, challenged Ukraine's right to statehood, and falsely claimed Ukraine was governed by neo-Nazis who persecuted the ethnic Russian minority. On 21 February 2022, Russia recognised the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic, two self-proclaimed breakaway statelets in Donbas. On the following day, the Federation Council of Russia authorised the use of military force, and Russian troops overtly entered both territories.

I love the detail in your work. The St. George ribbon, the color-accuracy to the real uniforms, the white armband, the biography/context behind the scenes. I don't know who else could (or would) make this kind of art. You're one of my favorite military Minecraft skin creators. Thank you 😄✌
