The Sonderabwehrforschungkrafte (Special-Defense Research Forces) or SAFK was a special unit of the Imperial German Army which conducted research on anomalous entities and objects and how to utilize them. They also manufacture weapons and hyperdrive engines for starships.

The SAFK wears the same uniform as the army, but with light-orange branch color and the SAFK logo on the shoulder.
