How would you use this? Can you use this in Photoshop and change the layer type to some kind of layer to make it work? I'm not getting this.

Open your skin in PS or Gimp, and open this as a new layer. Then set the layer mode to grain merge or grain extract. Whichever looks best to you. It's super easy :P
