John "Soap" Mactavish is one of the main protagonists throughout the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare trilogy (reboot). Working with Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley as part of the British SAS Task Force: 141, Soap has conducted missions throughout the middle east, Americas, and Europe. Notable missions include single-handedly evading Shadow Company mercenaries in Las Almas, Mexico; and helping defuse a bomb in London with Captain John Price, saving hundreds of lives from a terror plot by Vladimir Makarov.

He is a playable operator in the 2019, 2022, and 2023 installments, with different outfits to play as. The Soap Unmasked outfit is part of the Soap Operator Pack, which is obtained by preordering Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.
