A mysterious girl who occupies Byleth's (the player character) mind and grants them the power of the Divine Pulse, letting them rewind mistakes in battle. Where does she come from, and could this have anything to do with Byleth's undiscovered crest and lack of heartbeat?
This character's design is quite controversial, because it does play into the uncomfortable trope of having young characters wearing quite revealing clothing, but I've never found it too off-putting; to me it comes across as mysterious and eccentric, which is fitting, and I've never felt like she was sexualised by her dialogue or the way she's presented beyond the outfit itself. The option to have an S-Support with her is... confusing? Both conceptually, given that she lives inside Byleth's head, and also as a decision. It's the point where I draw the line on the way she is treated, and it feels uncomfortably close to catering to those who do sexualise her. which is disappointing.
Sothis' alts in Heroes are quite fun, so if I find the spare time I might try making skins out of them. No guarantees though.

Sothis manifests in Byleth's mind as a result of their heart being replaced by the Crest Stone of Flames shortly after birth, saving their life. An incomplete version of herself, she appears as a child, and initially has no memory of her identity, slowly piecing things together through Byleth's interactions with the Church of Seiros.
Byleth's birth comes as the unintended side-effect of Archbishop Rhea's scheme to revive her mother, Sothis, over hundreds of years of artificial humans created with her crest stone, as elaborated on in the Cindered Shadows DLC through the character of Byleth's mother, Sitri.
On the whole, Sothis presents an interesting plot element, especially regarding Rhea's unstoppable will to revive her - after Byleth fuses with her, she effectively disappears, and yet so much of the struggle in Fódlan seems to pivot on who has Byleth's influence and who does not. Byleth and Sothis collectively represent the single asset that can lead any political faction to victory, even Edelgard's revolution, which seeks to dismantle the Church of Seiros, benefits from Byleth's moral support and the supernatural power of the Crest of Flames.
