This creature roams the depths of a dark ocean in search of crystals and other valuables, and brings them back to it's cove on the shorelines to stash away in a gilded vault of wonders. Also, it is an ametuer alchemist.
The skeletal squid-like monster will often fight attackers of it's cove back with powerful magic derived from the crystals it gathers, and often later feeds on it's prey it captures.
Some could say that this monster was formed when a human obsessed with diamonds and other jewels was killed by another underwater beast.
