The Desmond Twins
Over ye known ramparts, there's unexplored woodland territory - or so in the opinion of the quiet village that locates a short while from the hills. In truth, there is indeed some sort waiting in this territory, and one would be a fool to transcribe it as uninhabited. For there is inhabitants, concisely two. The names bestowed upon them are Dallas and Harrison. They share the last name of Desmond, but many never could know, as the two remained hidden behind the eye of humanity and the lumbering figures seen between trees, between sleeping. A humble small cottage, crafted of simple oak wood, hid in plain sight the marvelous life work of the brother researchers. Though their lab and studies hidden from the world of bustling motion, the two were capable of entertaining themselves by altering the aspects of life - a taboo sport even by the present time's standard of living.

One fateful morn, the fellows grouped together, as they began an experiment precisely involving a corpse found in July 2001. All that even a watching spirit could tell you about the event is the flickering of optical lights, the pained screams coming from nowhere upon everywhere, and then dead silence of agony. There then began a myth, folklore in the village. The elderly soldier who stood on the rampart every last day swore he could see the twisted figure of two men, as if stitched together. He could tell that one half seemed to be a rotting green while the other had been turned lavender in chemicals. Surely one could consider his accurate description to be the truth, but the psychiatrists in the old village were not taking the tale wisely, and the poor soldier was locked away, doomed to spend his final years in an asylum as rumors circulated.

The Desmond Twin forever stalks the woods, kept alive not by man, not by an old functioning organ system, but rather out of untold agony that caused the men to be lost and united, doomed to be an ever walking anomaly that could not even complicate things past a butterfly. A miserable life, or perhaps afterlife, depending on one's views.
