I imagine it was the cold war version of him, after he lost his eye.
my theory on how he lost his eye is basically during ww2 when the third reich was doing Operation Barbarossa, that at the territorial height of the third reich, the third reich sh0t the ussr's eye while they were fighting. thats how the ussr lost his eye due to me idk man :/
