Valdemar had been at sea for days now. At least the weather had been kind to him on his voyage. On the last trip to these lands he found rich pickings of silver and gold. He was hoping for more this time. May Thor look kindly on him. The boat was coming to shore now, and all his energy was needed to row and keep him away from the rocks. Looking up, he saw that a surprise attack was going to be difficult. He could see a round tower in the distance. The last time he was here there was no tower.
As he came near the shore he heard the bell in the tower ring. "Hurry, hurry here goes the warning bell. They will be waiting for him. They will have their valuables in the tower" he thought. He rowed the boat into a small bay. He got his weapon and headed for the monastery. Suddenly horses came from behind a big rock. He was caught by surprise and soon he had to retreat his our boat.
Some of our men had been captured the day before so he decided to wait and see if we could negotiate with the Irish. The next morning he went with no weapons to the monastery to talk. Soon they agreed to make peace. He promised not to attack the monastery any more and to teach the Irish how to make better weapons out of iron. The Irish promised to give back the captured Vikings and to let us camp by the bay for the winter.
That night when they where sleeping by the bay they heard a noise. Valdemar went to investigate. Heading around the cliff side he noticed a bright light near the tent where he and the men had been staying. He turned and headed back. By the time he had gotten back round the narrow corner of the cliff he saw the unimaginable, His three man where laying dead by the burned back tent. Even on this day dark emotions rush through Valdemar's veins leaving his face in an ever lasting position of pure anger.
