I essentially tried to re-create a skin based off a picture of a varangian guard.
For those who do not know who the Varangian guard was : 

The Varangian Guard (Greek: Τάγμα των Βαράγγων, Tágma tōn Varángōn) was an elite unit of the Byzantine Army, from the 10th to the 14th centuries, whose members served as personal bodyguards of the Byzantine Emperors. They are known for being primarily composed of Germanic peoples, specifically, Scandinavians (the Guard was formed approximately 200 years into theViking age) and Anglo-Saxons from England (particularly after the Norman Invasion).

The picture I used as a reference, the skin is build up from a simple cloth coat, with padding leading up with mail over it and then covered with a lamallar cuiras, a mail aventail covering the entire face with a simple metal helmet onto his head.
