I seem to have a backlog of half-finished female skins - here's one I decided to finish up.
I present to you: Violet Evergarden
She's the main character in a fairly recent anime series. If you're a fan of slower paced anime shows, this one is still up on Netflix and I highly recommend it. It features Violet, a young girl who is seemingly emotionless and who finds herself with no real purpose left in life. The series follows her desperate inward journey to figure out what emotions really are and to come to terms with her past, present, and future.
Be warned though; it's a gut-wrencher of a story, and it gets pretty darn heavy pretty darn fast. It can be an emotional roller coaster - sweet, violent, melancholy, romantic, frantic - and many episodes can make you tear up. It may not be the most sophisticated or most well written show, but what it lacks it makes up for in sincerity and in beauty. The animation, while is gorgeously done - colors, composition, pacing - a wonderful compliment to the emotional material.

I would say the anime is family-friendly on the surface, but it's got some mature themes running underneath it - like any story that deals with heavy emotional content. There are some depictions of wartime combat, grief, depression, no heavy swearing that I can recall, and nothing overtly sexual. It comes close to crossing those lines in a couple places, but it always does so for a reason and it's not gratuitous. It's very "human."
