The Lycanthrope (commonly known as Werewolf) is a rare beast, considered by most superstitions to be half human, half wolf. A Lycanthrope is, in fact, a human who suffers from a gene-mutating disease called Lycanthropy, which, from the energy of the sun reflected by the full moon (the raw energy straight from the sun overloads the system and prevents the transformation) mutates the cells into a form that resembles a bipedal canine. When this mutation occurs, the "Werewolf" absorbs nutrients from its surrounding environment through its pores and aligns them into dense muscles, creating a supreme physical form. Unfortunately, this leaves the Werewolf's mind stunned and unable to process complex thought. The transmitting of Lycanthropy has been surrounded by a lot of superstition and folklore, but simply, simply, any fluids that enter the bloodstream will infect the person, whether this be blood itself (which can also be ingested), saliva, or the thin resin that the werewolf secretes out onto its claws which make them resistant from dulling. Any animal can become a carrier but apart from rare cases, only humans have been known to be affected by Lycanthropy.
