If you look at the stone tutorial at about 4 minutes in (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=gnEhCUfx2WU#t=238s) you can see how I deal with pattern errors such as what you're currently dealing with. You've probably already seen it, but just in case you have forgotten :P
