Concept art for Minecraft shown since 1.17 has been fantastic, but it doesn't always translate as-is into the game. In an attempt to put some of its beauty in the game, this texture changes things that have shown up in concept art in order to resemble it more.


There are also some other changes to flesh this out more. This is increasingly necessary now that Mojang is afraid to show off concept art due to potential backlash.


Concept Enhancements is now my more cohesive game-enhancement pack in general and should not be too crazy. Textures have been made with details from the originals in mind, and they're meant to blend in with Vanilla.

List of changes:

- Made new, less bushy cave vines textures (glow berry vines)
- Made a new, smaller cookie texture
- Made new dripleaf textures
- Made a new allay
- Made a new, larger spore blossom petal texture with a color palette from Minecraft Live
- Changed azalea bushes (they're deeper, splotchier, flowerier, and have unique sides)
- Made a new, wavier weeping vines texture
- Emerald block now has a larger smooth part in the middle which is inspired by both the emerald and emerald block which appear in the archaeology concept art
- Brand-new bottles (including all potions, honey, dragon's breath, and xp bottles)
- Recoloured the Pigstep disc which is now darker (it was quite a light record, especially coming from the nether)
- The axolotl in a bucket is more snugly tucked inside and doesn't hang its arms out. There are little bubbles.

- Windowed mangrove door from mud concept art
- Reddened pumpkin textures with a more dangerous face
- Purplier phantoms with bluer eyes like the bow concept art
- Animated crying obsidian, which pulses between colours (occasionally including it's original blue)- Red nether bricks are now dirtier, with things growing out of its cracks (crimson roots?) to represent its crafting recipe
- Apples use their original shape (remastered to current style) because that for some reason was in allay concept art
- Some of the logs have their rings now a colour more resembling their bark (unfinished feature, feedback appreciated)
- Altered shading on the lanterns which makes it smoother while not using more of each colour than the bottom
- Ghasts are sadder
- Recoloured chains to be lighter
- Stone ores now use their old colours from before 1.17, in an attempt to make their new, deeper colours stand out more in deepslate



To do:

- Potted Azaleas
- Decide on the logs
- The bright parts of skulk
- Lilly pad
- Archy when it (hopefully) comes out
- Other wild update things when they (hopefully) come out
- Things from new concept art which (hopefully) releases

Warning: To make some things how I want them, I had to change multiple models. If you have a pack which changes azaleas over this one, it may break. You may also find the dripleaves weird if you have your own textures. You will need to delete the models or block models folder in this pack in order for your other textures to work.

This pack is almost dead, but not quite! I still haven't finished some stuff that I should have done before, but the recent concept art hasn't helped too much (frog models, superior even-pixel camel models, lots of piglins from Legends). Here's some stuff that I managed to pull from it, though!

Added:

- All bottles and potions based on Legends concept art
  - Includes splash and lingering potions
- Phantom texture based on MCD phantom bow
- Mangrove door based on mud concept art
- Crimson stem top to align with the three others from before

Like Overcomplicated Netherite, I migrated the download to Modrinth for version control in the future. This is the second pack, and likely not the last to make the move. Don't worry, though, I think PMC has better visibility so this is still my primary posting site.

I'll update this to 1.18 soon, when I am ready to add a few more things and also have the time (I want to make it more worth the update than just the mcmeta type)

Despite the "incompatible" pack format, it will still work with pack format 8 (1.18) since it does not include any GUI, specifically not the status effects. If you get sick of the warnings you can unzip it and change the pack.mcmeta

Give or take a day, maybe less. It may not be as big as I wanted, I'll see what other ideas I can get before I release. I want to get more stuff out (including that pack format) =]
