I'm trying to learn how to use Blockbench on entities, first result doesn't look too bad i guess?
I've seen on the net two custom enderdragon models that utilize optifine, but one of them is not updated since 1.12 (broken in 1.16) and the other is not being released by the author for the public to enjoy, so i tried something of my own.
This resource pack changes appearance and idle sounds (Skyrim dragon sounds) of enderdragon, and appearance of dragon head block. Wither model has been ""borrowed"" from other resourcepack that has not been updated for a while now, because the head was misplaced and pivoting points were in incorrect places. (I can't find it again, so if someone knows the original creator, let me know so i will credit him). I animated his/hers wither texture to it's only half stealing?
Custom entity models and entity animations must be enabled in options when you have Optifine installed.
To install it simply download the ZIP and drag it into "resourcepacks" folder.
DOES NOT WORK WITHOUT OPTIFINE !!!!
Created and tested on 1.16.1 with Optifine HD U G2 pre2 using Blockbench with CEM plugin
Feel free to use this in your own texturepacks, videos etc. etc. You don't have to ask me for permission, just don't be meanie that steals. Giving credits in form of a link to here would be nice though.
Let me know if somethings broken. And just so you know, I'm not going to make it backwards compatible with older versions. Too much hassle, but it might be compatible with 1.15 though, haven't tested.
Btw anyone knows how to make sound pools? Like if a game uses a single sound for an event, but I want it to use more sounds, via some pool file that redirects the game randomly to a big pool of sounds. I can't figure it out and there's nothing useful on the internet. I can do that with custom sounds but I want to do that with the vanilla ones to add more variety

-Fixed the bug where the model of enderdraogn and it's head had no texture (Optifine or 1.16.5 decided that the model should be saved without texture)
