    I created an account just to reply to this comment, I have a fix! I was looking for a way to import my custom texture pack from java to bedrock as I recently was invited to a realm. The way to use texture packs without .mcpack is this! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGFYrYB_RQM I hope it helps! It is a bit complicated if you don't have a bit of knowledge on how computers work though. Good luck!

    I'll quickly explain before you watch the video though, what you want to do is create your own texture pack and uuid for it (all explained in the video.) You then want to import all of your current textures into the folder (I'd recommend testing the texture pack everytime you make a major change to ensure it works.) After this just add any file you find online and it'll be imported into Minecraft for that texture! Sorry if my explanation isn't very good :(
