Mites are irl animals that look a lot like ticks. As a matter of fact, ticks ARE mites. Given the fact that men can become end-corrupted and become endermen, why can't arthropods like mites also become end-corrupted? That's why they're weak to bane of arthropods. But with baby endermen, it doesn't make sense why they're weak to bane of arthropods. Unless you're making fun of south-east asian people, which is kinda mean tbh, but I doubt that your intention was this one. I prefer to think of endermites as parasitic hitchhikers to an enderMAN's... umm... round pearls..., which explains the rivalry. Kinda like irl crabs, even though those are insects and not mites.
