Half-Life 2 in Minecraft



This pack allows you to emulate the art style of Half-Life 2 in the world of Minecraft, with several materials and props from the game. Includes custom models recreated from scratch for Minecraft, along with shader support. All textures have normal maps and some have specially tweaked specular maps, allowing them to respond to light for added engagement. Although not even close to physically accurate, I've tried to make it look as close to HL2 as possible. The reason I have pack progress set to 0% is because I'm not aiming to replace all the blocks in the game, I'm just adding stuff to it as I go along.

This pack is not intended for gameplay, it should only be used for builds, screenshots and cinematics. It requires Optifine for most of the pack's features, including repeating block textures and shader support. Using 1.14.4 is recommended until a full release of Optifine for 1.15.2 or 1.16.1 is released. A guide on how to build with this pack is included in the download and can be found at the bottom of this post.

CUSTOM MODEL GUIDE
  • Barrels can be created by placing the first seven flowers in the creative menu’s decoration tab in flower pots.
  • Large wooden crates can be created by placing dead brain coral. Model rotations are randomly chosen.
  • Small wooden crates (supply crates) can be created by placing dead horn coral. Model rotations and amount of crates are randomly chosen.
  • Wooden forklift pallets can be created by placing 1 or 2 sea pickles in the same block. A pallet can be leaned on a wall by attaching iron bars to the wall.
  • Small paint cans can be created by placing dead bubble coral. Model rotations and amount of paint cans are randomly chosen.
  • Small drink cans can be created by placing dead fire coral. Model rotations are randomly chosen.
  • A miniature citadel can be created by placing a pink tulip.
  • 2D trash piles can be created by placing lime and pink stained glass blocks, or by placing them in item frames. These cover a 3x3 block area on the ground. Z-fighting may occur if two trash piles of the same type overlap each other.
  • Small wall lights can be created by placing redstone torches on a wall.
  • A metal grate decal can be created by placing a brown stained glass block.
  • Various ivy decals can be created by attaching lime, green and pink stained glass panes to walls. The debug stick may be useful in corners.
  • There are a few graffiti textures and poster decals that can be placed on walls with yellow, red and black glass panes.
  • A pipe model can be placed using stripped oak logs (doesn’t work on y axis for some reason).
  • Chain-link fences can be created by placing acacia fence gates 1 block off the ground.
  • Lab equipment props can be created by placing end portal frames. Variants can be swapped by leaving them empty or putting Ender eyes in them.
  • A health charger prop can be created by placing acacia buttons on walls
  • Metal air ducts can be created by placing acacia stairs - this implementation sucks and may change in future.
  • Metal hand rails/fences can be placed with nether brick stairs.

a small update which fixes a few bugs, smooths out the shading on oil drums/barrels, reduces the file size of various textures with no quality loss, and updates the pack format to 6 (to avoid error messages on 1.16)

ok so its bean 2 years already and im pretty sure this pack will not be updated. Soooo i have been basically datamining this pack(making a similar pack for a map) and realized that it didnt use stuff like obj mc and was done by hand with all those limitations... that is like impressive af. i even found like a half modeled buggy that was supposed to replace some mob. intresting to look at what this pack could be anyway idk why i am even writing that like who is going to read it but my man you are god modeller
