After a lot of time working on this pack and learning Optifine I did it. I finally managed to 1:1 recreate the beautiful chests from Minecraft Dungeons. And a huge thank you to everyone that helped me along the way in the Optifine Discord, It was a tough learning curve.



First off this only works with Optifine due to the whole Custom Entity Models. Dont try this without Optifine. It wont work.



This replace all chests in the game using some tricks with the double chests.



Some Issues. The single chest are wider then the hitbox that chests are assigns and go out of the single block by 1/8th of a block on the left and right. Meanwhile the double chest hitbox is roughly 1/4th a block larger then the chests model is. As far a I know this is a limitation of Minecraft and not something that is changeable.
