Napoleoncraft

Simple and Napoleonic

Napoleoncraft is a Napoleonic Era themed texture pack. It is a simple texture pack and changes the textures of everything, be it items, gui, particles etc. Some changes are barely noticable (though this doesn't apply to alot of textures), others are completely reshaped and retextured. For example bows will become muskets, arrows become bullets and armour sets become historically accurate Napoleonic uniforms of specific countries. The paintings too have changed. Flags of all major powers during the Napoleonic Wars and even whole maps of Europe!

I'm trying to keep it a simple texture pack and give the player a Napoleonic feel. Therefore this texture pack is a 16x16 one and can be run by nearly all minecraft players, even those with weaker PC's.

Version changes:

v1.0
Items retextured
Armour retextured
GUI retextured
Particles retextured
Screens redrawn
Paintings retextured

Update #3 : by Lucinianus Aemilius 06/28/2014 4:46:50 pmJun 28th, 2014

The pack has been released! Updates will come pretty quickly after this.

Since I noticed the paintings not appearing due to increased pixels for the armour textures, I had to increase the amount of pixels in the painting textures as well, leading to completely new paintings!

Hello, me again. I am just wanting to know if we have an official estimate of when this will be available to be downloaded by us PMC users.  Also I had a uniform idea, if they all look the same make a Scottish Highlander uniform set. I believe the headdress is diffrent then the others and you could get some nice plad patterning going on. Just an idea if your stuck.  Thanks for this truly awesome resource pack!

Hi,

I reckon that I'm gonna have to release the texture pack with just changes in items, armour, paintings, GUI and some block textures as a first version for now. I have increased the ammount of pixels in the armour textures to make it look nicer (this does however make the process of making the texture pack last longer..). However, I reckon that I can release the first version in june/july. After that I will try and update the texture pack as fast as I can for you lot have been waiting for too long.

Try making the normal minecraft swords into sabres, bayonets etc.
Also make each of the helmets (leather, iron, gold and diamond) into a
diffrent hat type. Like tricorns, bicorns and diffrent shacko's.

I'm really into history so I'm excited to see how this turns out.

Keep up the good work!

I have already made sabres and sword bayonets actually. The hats however, are a bit tricky. Because of Minecraft's limited hat size making bicornes and tricornes is quite impossible. Unless there is a program of some sort that allows you to change the size out there. I already wasted over 2 weeks trying to get a good looking tricorne :P

Heh. As of now the hats are more like shako's. One problem is that most of the shako's were simply black. Same goes for the pants which were generally just white. So making the armour look different for every set is a bit tricky..

Yes I can see how the armour would look the same (except for the chest plate). If you are hahaving trouble with the shako's at all give this a read, (yes I do realize it is supposed to be a guide for skins but hey, it might work)  www.planetminecraft.com/blog/shakos-and-hats-from-the-napoleonic-wars-how-to-represent-them-in-a-minecraft-skin/
