Ensure the file is unzipped if you don't see it on your list

My packs will come compressed in a zip file for an easier download
(compressed files take less space) and better overall organization.

One common mistake Minecraft players do is trying to install the resource
packs without extracting the files first, so the game cannot read what’s
inside the zip file, therefore the pack doesn’t show up in the list of
available resource packs.

6 Update Logs

Update #6 : by Oslypsis 04/11/2024 10:15:11 amApr 11th

Fixed the short grass broken texture (I had only edited the "grass.json" file instead of both that one and the "short_grass.json" file).

any chance you would optimized the model a bit? the current implementation is kinda heavy since there's roughly 18 models in 1 block, whilst vanilla only having 2. this results in it having 9x more models, and since grass basically appear all around the world, this can make one's game runs slower

There is a version with Mojang's style models where only the textures are changed. Is that what you were looking for?

Is there any possible way you know of to modify this pack so that the only thing it changes are the textures of the grass while leaving the models as the simpler vanilla ones with just the two crossing textures? Tried deleting the models folder which I figured was the only thing altering that but doing so just gave all the grass the black and magenta checkered textures. I'm just big on symmetry and continuity with the resource packs I use, and while the newer grass models are gorgeous and aesthetically pleasing my OCD keeps telling me they need to be like everything else in the game lol, so it would mean the absolute world if you could tell me what to do in that regard πŸ™

Edit: oh yea and I'm using the short version so idk if that changes anything, just figured I'd comment here because more traffic lol

Yes, I totally understand the OCD thing. If you wanted to edit the files yourself to change any models, you would want to change the "parent" part of the .json files from the models>blocks folder from this:

{

"parent": "minecraft:block/os_tinted_cross",

"textures": {

"cross": "minecraft:block/grass"

}

}

To this instead:

{

"parent": "minecraft:block/tinted_cross",

"textures": {

"cross": "minecraft:block/grass"

}

}

THANK YOU SO MUCH :DDD words cannot describe the extent of my gratitude rn, and I'm so glad you understand cause I didn't want you to take that the wrong way lol, like I'm also using a pack called Azaleaf Saplings that gives azalea bushes the leaf texture and I edited them to match the leaves in your colorful leaves pack. Preparing to build a cherry-themed base in a lush cave and I can't wait to cover it with the colorful cherry leaves! Your packs are great and I can't wait to see anything else you might have in store for the future 😎

Edit: ok so I tried what you said and it works perfectly for all of the files formatted that particular way, however when it comes to "grass2a" (the diagonal one) and "tall_grass_top3" (pampas grass) I'm not sure what to do. Saw "os_tinted_cross" in the latter and replaced it but didn't change anything. And I'm guessing the actual "os_tinted_cross" file should be left as is. If all of that's either way too complex or impossible to change then that's perfectly fine tho. I still really appreciate your help either way and thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time out of your day to reply πŸ™

Edit: hmmm okay so I tried copying the text from "grass2" over to "grass2a" and and that seems to work, however I tried doing the same for "tall_grass_top3" and while it does successfully change the model it does disable the pampas grass overlay. If that's something I'll have no choice but to forego however then I suppose that's alright. However if there's a fix that wouldn't eat up too terribly much of your time then that would be much appreciated lol. No pressure tho ofc only do what you have time for since I'm sure you have other things to do than be on Planet Minecraft :)

Of course! I expect people to play their way - not my way :)

Hmm, for the ones that wont cooperate, you could try copy/pasting Mojang's original "tinted_cross" file to the resource pack's models>block folder and renaming it to os_tinted_cross (and deleting my version). I'm not sure if that will do it, but it's worth a shot.

I'd been meaning to add some more versions to this pack since people seem to like it so much, and also sibce Modrinth allows for multiple files to be uploaded. I'll see what I can do. I have a feeling the pampas grass will not show up with Mojang's tinted_cross.

Edit: Actually, forget all that, I just fixed the issue and made the pack. It's called "Mojang styled models" as opposed to short or full version.

Bro seriously thank you so much I'm sure I'm not the only one who's gonna be absolutely ecstatic about that. 11/10 nicest interaction I've had on an online forum ever. Proud to officially inaugurate this pack into my "always on" list :D

Edit: huh, so for me one or more of the short grass models seem to be broken. Loaded it in vanilla to make sure it wasn't a mod issue so I guess it's just a bug with the pack itself. But it's aight I understand these types of things happen lol especially since it's the first release of that particular version so imma be patient 😎

Ah yep! Thanks for telling me. I forgot in one of the recent updates the filename for "grass" changed to "short_grass" so I only edited the old version. It should be fixed now :)

It's comments like these that give me the drive to work on my packs. Thank you.

Nevermind the last reply - I updated the versions to have fluffy ferns. You can find either the short or full version through the Modrinth link.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. Ive been quite busy with life.

Anyway, if you wanted to edit the files yourself to change any models, you would want to change the "parent" part of the .json files from the models>blocks folder from this:

{

"parent": "minecraft:block/tinted_cross",

"textures": {

"cross": "minecraft:block/fern"
