After searching the internet for a resource pack based on Morrowind, I found that there didn't seem to be anything up to date. So, I decided to make one of my own. My goal for this resource pack is to provide the ultimate Morrowind experience on Minecraft, while keeping it both lore friendly and good for survival. Not all monsters in Morrowcraft are in Morrowind, but they are made based on the creatures in morrowind. I am returning from a bit of a hiatus, having had an incredibly busy summer. I wish to continue work on this project again.
As of 9-14-14, I have made a small update that fixes a few lang issues, and will roll out a larger update soon (look again in about a week...)
Completed thus far:
Full Indoril Armor Full Chitin Armor Full Bonemold Armor! Zombies and Creepers (now Corpus Stalker and Blighted Creeper, respectively.) Many Flowers Dirt, Grass, Sand, Gravel, Ores All trees, including leaves! Wooden Planks! Cobblestone, mossy cobblestone, and bedrock Kwamas (aka cows) Ashlands (snowy biomes) Rain (including fun alts) Nether portal, now a Ghostgate to Red Mountain! Obsidian now granite (because Obsidian would look too much like ebony) The Nether! Ebony Armor Brewing Stand, bookshelves, and various house amenities
Working on:
Chain Armor --> Glass Armor Hardened clay, plus various stained variants Mobs Redoing beds (because my other one sucked) All the small details
Long Term Goals:
-Once I have completed the base texture pack, I plan to make various alternates for you to mix and match and assign as you please. There will be various sets of armor and weapons, new architectural styles, and other things for you to customize your Morrowcraft experience. Below I have listed just a few of my ideas.
Bloodmoon Armors: Bear, Wolf, Ice (Stahlrim), and Nordic Mail Armors. Tribunal Armors: Dark Brotherhood, Royal Guard (Helseth), and Her Hand's (Hand of Almalexia) Armors. Other armor sets: (Boiled)Netch Leather, Dwemer, Orcish, Daedric, Dreugh And other miscellaneous items...
Tons of skins, including (but not excluded to): Dunmer commoner, Imperial Noble, Jiub, Crassius Curio, Dagoth Ur, etc...
And many other things...
If you're interested in seeing my progress, or making suggestions, you can check the images above or just download the file. As this is my first texture pack, and I am fairly new to pixel art, I am open to criticism. Thank you for showing interest in my resource pack, and I hope you will enjoy playing it in the future!
Nice work so far, but sadly it doesn't quite bring me the feeling that it is Morrowind, could be because I've been playing Morrowind recently with Morrowind Graphic and Sound Overhaul 3.0, but when I go into the construction set with the normal textures still there and compare it, it still feels that it lacks that Morrowind vibe. I'll consider making this texture pack a spin off of Morrowind's textures. Sorry if my opinion sounds harsh.
The pack isn't finished as of yet, and that may have something to do with it, but whatever exactly my pack is missing that doesn't capture the Morrowind feel to it, I'll see if I can isolate and add to it. In the meantime, I'll play some Morrowind myself to get some ideas. Thanks for the constructive feedback.
Thanks for the feedback and diamond, and Morrowind's a great game, and I instantly came to love the atmosphere of the place, despite the rather outdated graphics.
