8-BIT Faster Than Sound is my latest texture pack. It is, of course, 8x8 resolution. I am trying out new ways of doing things with the texture pack, so prepare to be amazed :D I am going for a simplistic/realistic look with this texture pack. Enjoy :)

haha, well to give you an update, I am currently developing a Minecraft program which will have like mods, custom versions, texture packs etc. I am also developing a game at the moment too so there's not much time for updating texture packs at the moment. If you like, you can check out what I've done so far on the Minecraft program on my website.

8-bit doesn't mean 8x8, it means 8 palettes on-screen with 3 colors each. Good job anyways.

Can you change the piston texture slightly? I go on the hive server, and instead of chests they have storage creates, which use the piston texture (the top of it), but it looks like wood and blends in with everything else...

  • Tenuto_

...on the basis that the textures are 16 pixels across and 16 pixels down. That's what 16x16 means.

I like the style! Nice and simple with bold colors, but I wish you'd put textures on all the blocks, cause' 8x8 wood planks next to 16x16 cobblestone looks kind of strange.

I'll look into mod support. It's a good idea. :)
Well, first of all, this isn't 8x8...
PART of it is not 8x8, most of them are.
  • ladybugman

  • High Grandmaster Hero
  • April 30, 2013, 5:11 pm
and what makes you think that? (bearing in mind that the image dimensions for the current textures are 8x8)
Technically they aren't. however, I see now that they are 8x8. the image sizes are 16x16 but you drew the pixels to look larger.
  • ladybugman
  • Level 61
  • High Grandmaster Hero
  • May 2, 2013, 5:43 pm
... i can guarantee you that the images are 8x8 in dimensions. You are probably using Minecraft version 1.5.x and so the '16x16' textures that you are seeing are textures that do not exist in the texture pack yet and so Minecraft defaults to the original 16x16 textures which may be leading you to believe that the texture pack includes 16x16 textures. If you really want proof, unpack my texture pack and look at the image properties.
