Note: This is NOT a texture pack - it is a data pack.

BlazeandCave's advancements pack adds over 400 new advancements to your world so you have some extra challenges to do in your survival world.

The current version requires release 1.13.1.

Notable features:
  • Adds over 400 new advancements to your world, bringing the total up to 489.
  • All five existing vanilla tabs (Minecraft, Nether, End, Husbandry and Adventure) have had advancements added.
  • Adds five new tabs - Beginning, Building, Animals, Combat, Redstone, Enchanting and Potions.
  • Item rewards given via functions. (Optional)
  • Rearranged a few of the vanilla advancements so they fit in with our new ones and new tabs. Also renamed the 'Minecraft' tab to Mining and the 'Husbandry' tab to 'Farming.'
  • Some new advancements are inspired by various existing pre-1.12 achievements as well as achievements that are exclusive to Console editions of Minecraft. Others are purely original ideas of our own or of other people (see extra credits section).
  • All advancements are fully translatable using the BACAP Language Pack - currently Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Pirate Speak and Lolcat languages are supported. You can help us translate - more details are below.
  • You may find a list of advancements in the Read Me file in the download.

Installation:
This is not a custom map download, even though it is under 'texture packs.' In order to install, follow these steps:

1) Unzip the compressed folder that you downloaded.

2) Copy the folder labeled "bac_advancements". Paste it into the following folder directory in the world you want to install them in: /datapacks.

3) Go into the world. To make sure the advancements properly installed type in "/advancement grant @p only". You should see the auto-completion containing a really long list of custom advancements.
Also, a message should pop up saying you are using BlazeandCave's advancements pack.

Installing reward functions:
1) Reward functions give you item or experience rewards upon completing some advancements. By default they are turned off. To turn them on enter the following command:
/scoreboard players set Reward Reward 1
To turn them off enter this command:
/scoreboard players set Reward Reward 0

Installing version 1.3.1 or earlier (version for 1.12)

1) Unzip the compressed folder that you downloaded.
2) Copy BOTH the folders labeled "blazeandcave" and "minecraft" inside the "advancements" folder. Paste them into the following folder directory in the world you want to install them in: /data/advancements.
Do NOT copy them into plain /advancements - that's the folder that contains player files, not the advancements themselves.
3) Go into the world. To make sure the advancements properly installed type in "/advancement grant @p only bla" then press tab to make sure the "bla" part autocompletes to blazeandcave. Alternatively, pick up any block and place it down again, and this will unlock the "Building" tab. If either of these work, the advancements installed properly. Enjoy!

Installing reward functions:
1) Copy the folder "bc_rewards" inside the "functions" folder into: /data/functions.
This will install functions that will grant you with small rewards when you obtain some advancements. It is purely optional, if you don't want to get these extra rewards simply don't copy in the functions.


Updating to newer versions:
The Advancements Pack will undoubtedly be updated to be fixed for later versions or to add more advancements or fix bugs. In order to update, simply delete the "blazeandcave" and "minecraft" folders from your world, then copy and paste the new folders in. Please note that when you re-enter your world some or all of the advancements you have already obtained you may need to obtain again.

Using the Language Pack:
As of version 1.3.1, BlazeandCave's Advancements Pack has support for translation into other languages through use of the BACAP Language Pack, which can be downloaded here. When using it, you may choose any language that the Advancement Pack supports and it will change the names and descriptions of all of the advancements into that language.
In version 1.3.1 the following languages are supported, and we hope to add more in the future:
- Español (By Parritoso) (Only translated up to 1.3)
- Russian (By SoSeDiK) (Fully translated)
- Japanese (By Atmosphere Tile) (Fully translated)
- Pirate Speak (PIRATE) (By Cavinator1) (Fully translated)
- LOLCAT (Kingdom of Cats) (By Cavinator1) (Fully translated)
If you want to help us translate, you can get the base language file, which is an empty language file, which comes with the latest version of the BACAP Language Pack, translate it, then send it back to us in a private message. You will be credited.
If you are running a server with version 1.3.1 or higher, please note in the description that it supports translation using the BACAP Language Pack, and provide a link to the Planet Minecraft page.


What you may do with these advancements:
You may freely use them to play your worlds. This includes singleplayer worlds, LAN worlds with friends, or even public multiplayer servers. If you use our advancements on a public server please credit us in the server's description and leave a link to the Planet Minecraft page.
Do not re-upload our advancements and claim them as your own.
You may record a Youtube series where you use these advancements in your survival world or on a server you play on. If you do, please credit us in the video or in the description, and leave a link to the Planet Minecraft page. And message us, too. We'd love to see you play with them.
And remember to pronounce our names right! Cavinator1 is cave-in-eight-or and MichaelMKenny is michael-em-kenny.

Troubleshooting:
We are aware a number of people have had trouble installing our pack, especially on servers. The Troubleshooting section in the Read Me document that comes with the pack has more information on troubleshooting.

Cobaas - Creator of an advancement pack that used our pack as a base, and also added some new advancements of their own. Cobaas has allowed us to add the new advancements from their pack to ours.
Platy (aka PancakeIdentity) - Creator of an advancements pack that used Cobaas's pack as a base, which, as you just read, originally used our pack as a base. Similarly, Platy has also allowed us to add new advancements from their pack to ours.
Parritoso - Translated the Advancements Pack into Spanish.

I was having trouble getting the Tropical Collection advancement to start counting and found that some of the variant numbers weren't there. I checked NBT data and tested some things in creative but I didn't quite get all the fish to match up. Then I found this page: https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/visual-fish-buckets That info seems to match up and is much clearer than the wiki data is. Some of the variants included do not match named fish, but are things like "stripey, yellow"
Here is a pretty minor issue. The fuel engine advancement is in two places: redstone and mining.

Bug: I was in the nether and got the shroom advancement. It also triggered the cactus achievement, and the reward for it twice.

There are mushrooms in the nether that you can pick up. Also someone else has let us know that there is a bug where the "shrooms" advancement gives you cactus as a reward, and obviously if you hadn't yet got the "it's a cactus" advancement yet it would also give you that and then the reward for that again.
I got a couple of fixes for version 1.5:
Shrooms references the It's a Cactus function (which then triggers that advancement).
Bow Spammer has an extra closing bracket at the end. I didn't check if this causes it not to load or if it is just a warning.

I thought I had a couple other errors, but it turns out they were ones I was merging in from some 1.12 advancements and they weren't ready. One is for finding a mineshaft on the surface (meaning level 64 or above). The other is for placing every possible block, but some of the ids don't work now and there is probably some things missing.

No, because the pack is designed to work in vanilla Minecraft with no plugins or mods.
I'll ammend my last question to: Can I add deco heads as rewards? Im going to try now anyway but thought I should ask.

Hello, first you need to download the BACAP Language Pack (the link is in the description).
Inside the pack (go BACAP Language Pack/assets/minecraft/lang) is a folder named "base_language_file.json". Make a copy of this and put it somewhere else and open the copy using a program like Notepad ++.
Inside are some instructions on how to translate exactly, but in a nutshell, on each line is something like this:
"Adventuring Time":""
On the left of the : is what is being translated and on the right, inbetween the speech marks, is where you write the translation, so if I were to translate that into Pig Latin it would be:
"Adventuring Time":"Adventuringay Imay"

Overgrown is Swampland, Jungle, Jungle Hills, Jungle Edge, Mushroom Island, and Mushroom Island Shore.

For whatever reason the advancement spelunker triggers when near a lake...

It triggers when you enter cave_air instead of normal air, and cave_air happens to generate around lakes. This does often result in most players hilariously getting it without actually entering a cave.
I found two more to fix. Vegetarian and Balanced Diet have "melon" but should be "melon_slice." The one for just eating a melon is correct.
This advancement pack does not work in realms...when I try to upload it, it just keeps preparing and never finishes...does anyone have a fix?

Install the Language Pack in the same way that you install a resource pack. Then select it in-game, then choose the "Russian" language, and you will see that not only is the game translated into Russian, but so is the custom advancements in the pack!
A couple thoughts I just had. Portable Storage could trigger on any color shulker box and maybe one for collecting all colors of shulker boxes.

The language pack is a resource pack where, if you have it turned on and choose any of the other supported languages, it will translate the advancements pack into that language.
It's installed just like any other resource pack.
im new to this datapack stuff, if i remove the pack to add a patch of this pack to it, will my advancements be saved?

Yes, as long as you don't open or reload the world while you have no datapack in the datapacks folder. Once you remove the old datapack, just put the new datapack in, then log back into the world.
i dont know if these are already added, but heres some ideas
some advancement about having all tipped arrows
some advancement about having all bed colors
some advancement about having all types of skulls
some advancement about obtaining 64 of all minerals
some advancement about obtaining 1 of each mineral block
some advancement about obtaining chiseled stone bricks (mabye)

The tipped arrows and bed colors advancements are good ideas.
There is already an advancement for each different type of skull, but perhaps there could be a special hidden one for getting all five...
There are already a number of advancements for getting 64 of each different type of ore/mineral as well as other items like mob drops, certain farming materials and even redstone components.
Also crafting or obtaining chiseled stone bricks is one of the requirements for getting "Fake Stronghold"

You get the "Bake Bread" advancement when you obtain bread in your inventory. This can be in any way, whether another player gives you bread, if you find it in a chest, or, of course, if you craft it.
You can find bread in mineshaft chests, did that happen to you?

Also, a glistering melon is: minecraft:glistering_melon_slice
All of the xp rewards need to be reformatted:
xp add @s 50

Also, Alaskanshade, this is most of the errors you receive from this pack when you do /reload
Man, the reload command would have been useful when trying these out. I kept restarting the whole server to see what messages were left. I didn't realize it was just the order. Google took me to the fully spelled out "experience" command and I used that.

Hmm you are right about both those problems. Since the xp rewards bug is quite serious we will give this our full attention and put out a minor patch within the next couple of days.

After looking through things a bit more, it seems the xp rewards are right in the json files. Do they need the commands in the custom functions at this point?

The other changes I made in order to clear up any errors:
prismarine_shards -> prismarine_shard
sea_pickles -> sea_pickle
melon_block -> melon
speckled_melon -> glistering_melon_slice
modified_woodland_badland -> modified_woodland_badland_plateau (I'm not certain of this one)
mutated_desert -> desert_lakes

I also adjusted the title of the snow golem one.
I noticed in my server log that I had a bunch of errors loading the advancements. I went through and fixed all the issues until they all loaded. It seems that the command to assign xp was incorrect syntax and some of the ids of things had changed with the release of 1.13. I can list the full details if anyone is interested.
Mostly it is the xp commands that need to be reformatted, as well as a few other things

Did you update to the latest version of the advancements pack when you updated your server to 1.13?
I did. I was running 1.12 up until 1.13 was released so I had to get the updated version.

I.E. circle, bottom triangle, top triangle, etc. you don’t need them for every color, just the pattern

Bug Report: Adventuring Time Resets back to 1/43 when you rejoin a server [I didn't test on single player but I am positive it will still reset]

There are a few glitches with advancements that rely on entering locations. It means we already know that the advancements for entering an Ocean Ruin and Shipwreck also don't work due to bugs in Minecraft. Our code is correct, it's just Minecraft's fault.




As for Adventuring Time resetting back to 1/43, we are aware a similar problem happens with Monster Hunter but are unsure as to why.
Does it happen with any other advancements? (e.g. Monsters Hunted). Just noticing both Adventuring Time and Monster Hunter are vanilla advancements.

- One Hundred Thousand Blocks [Travel 100,000 blocks]
- Block Placer [Place every single possible block to get in survival mode on the ground]
- The Majestic Pink Sheep [Find a pink sheep in the wild]
- Skull Collector [Obtain a creeper skull, a skeleton skull, a wither skeleton skull, and a zombie skull from the chanceling enchantment]
- Golden Lover [Make golden armor]
- The Mistake! [Put mending on any golden piece of armor and realize what you are doing in life]

2nd One: It is pretty hard. We have an idea where we create a "super challenge" tab where only really hard advancements like this one go, but for 1.4 this won't happen.

5th One and 6th One: Nice. We'll probably save these ones for 1.5.

Currently we have "Complete Enchanter" (get every enchantment), "Master Enchanter" (get every enchantment at max level)... so why not "Ultimate Enchanter" as well?

As for "Master of Fishing" this is also a good idea.

We will probably save these ones for 1.5 because 1.13 (and hence 1.4's full release) is coming out very soon.

But won't that reset all the advancements for everyone on the server?

We will try to keep as much forwards compatibility as possible between 1.4 and 1.5. As long as your server isn't running while updating the advancements pack, when you turn it back on it should still have everyone's achieved advancements.

Hi, if you release 1.5 of the 1.13 pack, is there a way to transfer the 1.5 pack to my server with all the data from 1.4 saved to the players?

Yes. Shut down your server so it is no longer running. Then delete the 1.4 datapack and in its place put in the 1.5 datapack.

Some other bugs that have been happening:

-Every time I log out & log back in, it no longer says I've completed 'Monster Hunter'
-Rewards are not being given for 'We'll handle this'
