I was not able to reply to posts, threads, or update this 9 years ago, so I phased away from PMC. You may use the pack as a basis for your own. I have fallen into obscurity.

Alright! A week has gone by and the only thing I've changed is the Bow :p (back to default). This texture pack can be used online or offline, on any map, and still look really good! Please leave comments on what you did or did not like about it, and I'll see about changing it for 1.1 or 1.2.

I originally was simply swapping out the textures I didn't like from the 128x128 Realism pack and discovered that Quake 1 had so few textures in it that maybe I could fit enough of them into their own pack...
There are a surprising amount of Quake levels remade in Minecraft, and games like Doom and Duke 3D have had TP's made from them so how fun would those maps be if they had some nice textures to compliment them? :)

Things I would like to add:
Armor, more weapons, items, a proper font, sky(?) and Title Screen skybox. The portal needs animating for anyone up for it!

Textures changed:
Almost all terrain textures, except sprites (plants, flowers..), and cactus
Diamond Sword, Iron Sword
Over half of the paintings
Title Screen title "MineQraft" and some system graphics
