This is a partial texture pack, which consists ONLY of Villager skins for 1.9. It is meant to be used with an existing texture pack, or copied directly into the minecraft.jar.

I know there is a sixth villager skin, and I did one for him, I just couldn't get him to spawn and didn't really feel like swapping out the names and folders in the .jar because I am lazy. He looks just as nice as the others, I promise.

Additional Notes

Inside the .zip, you will find two separate folders. One folder contains the villagers textures with the immense squid-ward noses, the other without.

Copy only the .png files from the folder you choose into the /mob/villager directory of your texture pack or minecraft.jar.

I promise, you have minecraft.jar, and you can get 7zip for free. Just google it and take the first result, then find the proper download for your system.

Find your minecraft.jar file.

Open it in 7zip.

Go to the mobs folder.

Go to the villager folder.

Copy the files from the zip your downloaded into the villager folder of the .jar

Now, if only we could down-size their heads and uncross their arms so they don't look like Jedi's anymore.

Indeed. There is *technically* a solution to the crossed arms, but it just means that their arms are unnaturally short.

Of course, I took advantage of their bizarre shape for a different sort of villager-pack.

I didn't really, so I made versions without them. I really, really have no idea what Notch was thinking when he made these things, they were so ugly. They still kinda are, but I did what I could.

Because that's how Notch made them. As a skinner, I can't change the shapes - I can only either color in the whole thing, or leave it blank. So I did both, and if you download it, you can choose which set of skins to install.

i took out the noses on mine npc villager skins because the noses were to much
Did my previous comment not register? I'll say it again then.

Ha, I'm doing the same thing too!

Although I was originally going to stick to a single novelty skin, this has convinced me to do an entire village as well.

I dunno, comments have been 'wonky' at best recently.

I wasn't planning to do any of them until 1.9 actually released, in the hope that they would change up the shapes a bit, but Jeb made a tweet stating that they had no plans to alter them... so I went ahead and did it anyway.

Part of me still hopes they change them up, those elongated heads are just so... derpy.
I don't really mind the heads they're good for tophats, if I can figure out where the brim goes at least, or Ki-Adi Mundi's people from Star Wars.

Although I hope they alter the arms, the two sections seem to overlapse. At least that's what I think, my test subject don't want to keep still long enough. I'll peruse your skins to see if I missed any sections.

I wasn't able to get the extra head layers working, I saw that they had some 'hoods' on a few that just didn't show up. Left them all off for now, let me know if you figure anything out.

On the arms, they line up kinda funny. Have a look at my librarian skin for the solution to that, you should be able to tell from the gold lining where the cloak bits meet up. It took me waaaay too long to figure that out.

One thing that is really bothering me is that the arms don't "mirror" like every other mob's do, so the canvas is basically cut in half unless you want to have some really funny looking joints on your shoulders/elbows on one/both sides. You'll see an example of that on the blacksmith's shoulders.

For testing, I used MCEdit and set the string value of a mob spawner to 'villager' - it was the only string that worked, so I couldn't spawn any particular types. Funnily enough, the 'villager' string actually spawns the one labelled 'farmer' - which leads me to believe that the 'villager' ID isn't actually used, because I simply could NOT find one to look at.

I would prefer that you do not. We may discuss this further when 1.9 officially releases. I am still hoping for changes to these little guys. It doesn't look good, though.
Yea I think they look like Squidward :D, but anyway I DO really like these skins for them, oh well guess I will try and make my own, thanks anyway.
