Note: For now I've stopped using AdFly. My own computer keeps flagging it for viruses. It just doesn't seem safe.

Super Mario Medley
features artistically interpreted elements from several generations of the core Super Mario titles, from Super Mario Bros, to Yoshi's Island, to Super Mario 3D World. This is a product of years of casual pixel art and experimentation, making and remaking textures. I tried to balance representing the biggest variety of titles with choosing what fit the best for each texture.

Don Koopa Shell armor, wield Hammers and throw Boomerangs like a Boomerang Bro!

Spice up PvP and other areas by mixing blocks to evoke tons of Level themes!

Fortress textures in stonebrick, quartz, and sandstone make spawns and buildings look like castles.

Use commands to assign functions to a multitude of past power-ups!

Fight enemies like Koopas and Boomerang Bros in the underground and at night!

In the overworld, fight Goombas, Magikoopas, and Bob-Omb carrying Shy Guys!

Level themes like Airship and Ghost House are coordinated to wood types like Birch and Dark Oak.

Players command block expertise can bring gameplay closer to Super Mario by assigning functions to Question Boxes, Thomps and Piranha Plants!

World comes to life immediately with Chests as Question Boxes and an animated, colorful world.

Interact with classic peaceful mobs like Monty Mole, Dino Rhino, and Wiggler cats.

Try not to get Thwomped by falling gravel in the mines!

Make your way to a Nether Fortress to fight Dry Bones, Boos, and Clown Cars - and battle Bowser Jr!

Update #16 - Foods, Redstone Wire, EXP Meter : 07/01/2016 5:21:32 pmJul 1st, 2016

In the midst of a lot of work on the remaining missing textures.

The new Redstone Wire texture is now based on the Tracks from Super Mario Maker. The vanilla redstone model is really hard to work with. It was almost the level paths from Super Mario World, but I could not make it work for anything.

  • New Breaking animation - the Ground Pound symbol from Super Mario Galaxy 2.
  • Updated String > Wonder Wool (Yoshi's Wooly World) texture. Now purple.
  • Changed Pumpkin Pie to brown to match the cookies. All the cookies should be brown, except for ones you probably shouldn't eat.
  • New Pufferfish texture > Spiny Cheep Cheep. Made it purple.
  • Added last fish - Rip Van Fish. Will probably swap Clownfish and Salmon textures.
  • Updated Mushroom Stew texture. Added Beetroot Soup and Rabbit Stew textures.
  • Added Carrot on a Stick.
  • Changed Bone texture to spinning bone projectile, since the old one is now the Bone Block. (If I ever figure out how to give the tipped arrows distinct textures, it will switch to one of those instead.)
  • Overhauled EXP meter - now made up of coins.
  • Horse jumping meter is now made up of Yoshi tongues.
  • Added approx. half the Status Effect icons and the GUI container. The sizes are maddening, everything has to be trimmed to fit.

What happened to this resource pack?? it's been a year now, and.. it kinda stopped updating. very odd. any reason why?
Yeah... Alot of the textures are missing, There are ALOT Of new blocks that could be remade...

We're working on a very big project called Super Mario Galaxy 2 Minecraft, which is a recreation of the SMG2 game in minecraft. I'm looking for resource pack creators who could create various block and mob textures for our map, maybe you're interested. :)

I have a problem with stone slabs. its shows me the missing texture thing. am i the only one seeing this?
You should totally make the Totem of Undying be a 1-Up mushroom! That would be sweet!

I am absolutely in love with the fact that you made end crystals the item boxes from Mario Kart. The rotating function just fits so perfectly! Keep it up <3
1.11 Ideas:
Llamas: Red Yoshis? (Because they attack by spitting, similar to red yoshis spitting fire)
Evoker: Magikoopa
Evoker Attack: Piranha Plants
Witch: Since Evoker may be magikoopa, this should be changed to...I honestly don't know...but it should be changed (unless evoker is simply a different colored magikoopa)
Vindicator: Hammer Bro
Vex: Gold Ghost
Shulker Box: Exclamation Block
Totem of Undying: 1-up Mushroom

Llamas are definitely going to be Yoshis because their model is much better suited to them than horses. The only question is what to do with the horses after that.

Sadly... the yoshis won't be able to be controlled.. llamas don't like being ridden.

So that's not just a glitch? That's unfortunate...the Yoshi horses should probably stay then, but maybe the llamas can still get Yoshi textures as well. I hope they change their mind about not riding llamas before the update is finalized. Llamas are tons more suited for Minecraft anyway.

ok, they CAN be yoshis.. just some kind of sub-species, or just a normal yoshi.. the saddle design is up to you, and they can be different colors. i think there are 4 or 3 variations of the llama. also up to you, to decide what they spit.. the rest of 1.11 may be hard to figure out.... because, the magikoopa has already been taken.. and i don't know of an enemy, who wields an axe.. so all of that, is up to you.
The outcast villagers are going to be the two most powerful Koopalings - Ludvig and probably Morton. Five of them are already zombie villagers, so I'll switch around the textures to make all seven available. I've got a list of plans here but it might be a while because I'm finishing up a college plan.
Are there hammer bros already? Hammer bros could maybe work as the axe wielding ones. Though I like the idea of Lesto- I mean Morton.
I'm almost positive you can ride llamas the same as horses, but I think they use carpets instead of saddles.
I'm pretty sure you can ride them just the same as horses

Sadly, this is NOT the case. the only way to transport them, is by lead. unless they have some secret breeding item that i do not know of.. but yes, it is IMPOSSIBLE to control them correctly... no way around it..

When the 1.11 snapshots come out tomorrow, can you update smm? here are a few examples for textures: The villager outcasts, should be.. Some kind of evil toad, OR.. some kind of magikoopa.. the wizard outcast, should be.. oh yeah, DOOPLISS!! yes, i know.. kinda a strange option. but come on, they could be good as the texture for them! oh, and the vex's? they should be some kind of ghost, or boo! up to you on which one you go with. anyways, i hope you like my suggestions! :D

I got an idea for you how about you change the elytra to a P-wing, that way it will be more obvious where to equip it.
I will be using this on my custom map, I hope you don't mind :3

You can't get the item normally, you can only place it using setblock, ie;

/setblock ~ ~ ~ double_stone_slab 8
How about instead of a parasol, you use Bowser Jr.'s magic paintbrush for the nametag?
In order to make the Question Blocks more prominent, I'm changing all ores to Question Blocks, and the command blocks to Exclamation Blocks. The chests will then be actual chests (like Super Mario chests) again. This means breaking Question Blocks will give you actual coins, or EXP, similar to Super Mario. Does anyone have an opinion on this? Feel free to share!
I feel like the chests should still have a texture. Maybe they could look like the chests from Luigi's Mansion? Or maybe the chests from Paper Mario?
They'll probably be based on chests in Super Mario 3 and New Super Mario Bros Wii.

It looks like a great idea, as well... do you think you'll be able to include the different switches like the p-switch? as well, i'd like to see if you can maybe include a few easter eggs.. maybe if you defeat the ender dragon, (Bowser) you can get maybe a special trophy in place of the dragon egg! it would require a bit of 3d texturing, but i think it would look great. as well, you know how kamek uses geometry magic to attack? see if you can make potion particles into the geometry magic! just a few suggestions, ps: I LOVE THIS RESOURCE PACK!
The beacon is a P-Switch in the new update. : )

Maybe zombie villagers could be toads with brick blocks on their heads? As much as I like the Koopalings, it doesn't make much sense for a toad to turn into Larry or Roy, and the brick heads could be a reference to the lore of Super Mario Bros (Bowser turning the toads into bricks).
Yeah I agree that it's awkward. Right now I want to keep the Koopalings in there in some form, but if the opportunity presents itself I'll try to make it more logical.

How should I change them?
the way the texture is see through... just doesnt work for me. If you could change it so it fills up more of the block, so you cant see as much sky through them I would be Grateful. However this is just an opinion. other people may want otherwise ;)
sorry im making so many suggestions, but there must be a way to turn off animations, cuz its lagging my game out.
Try going to Options/Video Settings and change the Graphics from Fancy to Fast. That will fill up the leaves textures and might make it work faster.

Command blocks are Question Blocks. You can get them by using /give @p command_block

I'm working on converting the Wii U exclusive Super Mario Mash-Up Pack for PC use. >:3
Ahkay! ^_^ Mash-up is pretty fun in its own right, it just uses a lower resolution and doesn't have the same variety of major textures. But a lot of its choices do make good sense, like the Ghasts being Big Boos and the Silverfish being Wigglers.
I like lower resouloution better, It feels more like minecraft. Aswell, It gives more of a feel for the first super mario bros game.

Awesome Pack! Question: What plans do you have for the new Polar Bears?
Thank you! Some ideas I've had for the Polar Bear are Fliprus from WiiU, Mega Mole, Major Burrows from Galaxy 2, or even a Chargin' Chuck, though that wouldn't match the ice environment. Depends on which texture works out the best.

I was wondering about these features... like the strange 4th yellow koopa, and the spike traps! you're already going for 1.10 aren't you? welp, i like it! what do you think the strays should be? or maybe the polar bears... well, the strays do give a slow effect... maybe some kind of hammer bro..? don't know about the polar bear, THAT, would be one of the textures you don't know what to turn it into!
Strays are Blue Koopa like Husks are Yellow ones. Those colors of Koopa are from way back in Super Mario World. As for polar bears...I still have no idea lol.
