Welcome to the Transmobifier! A resource pack for Minecraft Java Edition that allows you to customize the mobs in your world using nametags. This pack currently has 67 custom mob textures. All mob changes only appear for those using the resource pack, so you can use this anywhere! (Vanilla survival, multiplayer servers, realms, etc.)



This pack REQUIRES OptiFine 1.12.2 HD U C7 (Or any other version that supports name-based random mobs) in order to work.

COMPATIBILITY:



Custom Optifine mobs in resource packs can not be layered unfortunately. Any other resource pack that uses custom entity models and/or random mobs features will not be compatible with this resource pack. To ensure the TransMobifier works properly, make sure it's at the top of your resource packs list.



FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)



Q: How do I install the Transmobifier?

A: You copy it into your resource packs folder.



Q: When is the next update?
A: ┐(゚~゚)┌



Q: Do I really need Optifine?
A: Yes. This pack will not work without it.



Q: I don't want to download Optifine because it will give me a virus!
A: Optifine will not give you a virus. It is not malicious. Unfortunately the download links for it display ads that can sometimes be malicious, and it has also been re-uploaded to a handful of shady websites. Make sure you download it from optifine.net. Do not click on the ads. Wait for the timer at the top right to end and then click "Skip ad." Alternatively, just use the mirror link to get a direct download and skip the ads entirely.



Q: Can you make a version without Optifine/for Pocket Edition/Win10/Console/any other platform?
A: No, this is currently impossible.



Q: Can you make this into a mod?

A: No. I have no experience creating mods, and the point of this pack is to add custom cosmetics while keeping your world vanilla. Making it a mod would defeat that purpose.



Q: I have an idea for a new mob! Can you add it to the pack?

A: If it's feasible and I like the idea, then I might. Keep in mind this resource pack is just for mobs. I will not take suggestions for custom tile entities (chests, shulker boxes, etc. Also tile entities can't be customized with names yet anyways, so it wouldn't be possible regardless.)



Q: Why haven't you added my suggestion yet? Did you forget?

A: I've got my own work schedule and it may take me a while to add a suggestion. Please be patient. Please don't repost your suggestion multiple times. I see them all the first time. Don't worry.



Q: Do you have a version for 1.10/1.9 etc...

A: Right now, the Transmobifier was intended for use with Minecraft 1.12.2. It may work on previous versions of minecraft as long as you have a version of Optifine that supports the features it requires. I make no guarantees though.



Q: Can you give me edit access to the mob spreadsheet?
A: No. I'm not sure why you would need it in the first place. If you're looking to post suggestions, just send me a PM or post it here.



Q: Is there a map I can download to preview everything?

A: No, and I don't have any plans to make one. Feel free to make one yourself and post it though!

Would this also work with entities like boats? The method I mean. I'm still trying to figure out the itembound method. Got a few packs in the works using mutliple unique 3D models/textures. Making some less boring boat models and if I could apply unique 3D models to named boats that'd be great.

I was going to use your pack a reference for my Server pack but could you add "Sharks" and "Pink Dolphins"
And maybe a "Whale"? and "Killer Whales"

Was hoping to code a plugin my self later this week that Killer Whals and Whales would all be there own "separate Mobs" and defend there "pack" depending on if it had the same name :D

Stuff like sharks are planned but I can't add anything to the aquatic mobs that requires a custom model until there's support for it.

EDIT: Nevermind, looks like custom models for dolphins have been implemented in the latest Optifine release.

Are horses remodelable? Im not sure what the size or shape limitations are but it would be amazing to ride custom mounts that way. An entire pack of vehicles or fantasy animals would be a great idea.

They are in 1.12. I haven't tested 1.13 yet (it might not be possible yet due to the model change). If that gets updated I'm definitely going to do some stuff with horses. I already have a list of ideas.

Not sure. I never tried to do it with random mobs before. Theoretically it should be possible though.
Well can you explain what all the code in the mushroom/mooshroom files that could be helpful I don’t know any other pack creators who know this info and I can’t use mod files for obvious reasons

Make sure you have a mushroom_red.png file saved in "assets/minecraft/textures/entity/cow/"
Neither of these talk about mooshrooms and I know how to do random mobs what if I just sent you this stuff in a texture pack and tell me what to do from there

The mooshroom textures should work in the same way as any other random mob texture in the game.

Your base texture is mushroom_red.png, saved in "assets/minecraft/textures/entity/cow/"

any random mob variants will be named
mushroom_red2.png
mushroom_red3.png
mushroom_red4.png

the .properties file is named "mushroom_red.properties"

both saved in assets/minecraft/optifine/random/entity/cow/

etc

I read the conversation you had on reddit about this, and it looks like it's possible this doesn't work with random mobs. If that's the case and it doesn't work for you, you should report it here:

It can work, but only without a .properties file. Just place your variants

don't use a .properties file for them

Probably not though since there's no stable release of optifine for 1.13 yet.
Ello, while using this resource pack Iron golems turned invisible (also when I named them), and when I tried to hit them my entire screen became red, and the title screen got glitched entirely (Also when I disabled the pack), I got my minecraft to work normally again after restarting the game tho. Do you know how this happened, and how I can fix it? Thanks

hey i'm using this on a server with the idisguise plugin ! will i able to disguise into these mobs with a custom name ? it doesn't work with the names with spaces in the middle so could i get the id's ?

Can you name a zombie or a skeleton to a hostile npc or a mob? Like a bandit or pirate or orgs and stuff....
Help, it doesn't work! I don't know what's happening, but I tried it with the cats and wolves and it didn't work... the pack is at the top of the list, and I have Optifine. Is there something I'm missing?

Hello!!
I want to ask you whether you would be able to make something with horses. Maybe you could cut their tails short plonk two dead bushes onto their heads and make reindeer. Or you could make different colours/breeds of horses? Thank you so much. I love the resource pack so far and it's been great having an animal shop with different dog breeds. I'm sorry that my English isn't very good (as I'm not English) but I hope to see more updates to this EPIC custom mod! <3

I'm using the version you said to use. also do you need to have custom items on as well as custom mobs? putting on custom items crashes minecraft (and maybe pc can't remember)

All you really need to have enabled are the Random Mobs and Custom Entity Models options.
I apologize for my most likely intense ignorance but when I try to spawn a pig or any other mob that's customizable it doesn't appear and when its damaged my screen goes permanently black. If I can solve this issue then I would like if you could tell me.
