Feature to stop update log abuse

I've noticed that some users, especially with resource packs, abuse the update log feature, by making minuscule changes and updating it every day to force more viewership and downloads that the pack otherwise wouldn't get. I suggest that the rules regarding update logs be changed so that the frequency of update logs would be limited to something like once every four or five days - the user could still update the texture pack itself whenever they please, it would not obstruct the actual updating of the pack, but for posting the actual logs (the action which brings the pack to the top of the page again), it would be limited. I hope this feature gets considered! Thanks

I know what you're talking about. Creative, polished content gets pushed out of the way by people who are blatantly misusing the update log to keep their content on the front page. There is little to no moderation on update log abuse, unless the definition of abuse is so narrow these sorts of shenanigans are not considered such. With some of these "update log abuse" posts having been around for over three years and having over 700 update logs, I imagine nothing is being done to dealt with these regardless of flagging. And now these daily update posts flood the pop reel. I'm not familiar with whatever renovation has been made to the pop reel algorithm, but as far as I understand it used to be so that as time progressed it became increasingly harder to get pop reel. Essentially, nothing would really get on there more than once. It's insane.

It's already limited. Regardless of how many logs you post in a day, the page will only be bumped once per 24 hours.

Okay, that doesn't really solve the problem though, updating a pack every single day will still make it consistently be right near to the top of the list. In my opinion that should be considered abuse of the feature - I think limiting it to something like once every three or four days would make more sense.

Realistically though you can have a major update once a day if you save your content releases for a certain time. Obviously this doesn't happen all the time, but it is a real thing. If you see someone abusing the update log, flag their submission and a moderator will handle it.
