Lately, on every adfly link, Norton says it blocked an attack on port 22. I also notice I can Not download mods because the skip ad button was taken over by a malicious ad, and redirects me to other downloads.Adfly Might Be Dangerous. Especially in the future, as malware gets more advanced, Adfly could become a security risk. Clearly adfly is not a trustworthy source and I think links should instead use something like google drive or dropbox. Download Links should be moved out of adfly.
I also am a web developer, and know an updated/unmaintained software (which adfly might be) can be dangerous for security. If unmaintained, security risks grow as hackers get smarter.
It seems adfly links don't stop ads from injecting code at all. And if a user does not have a good antivirus like norton, they could easily get hacked. I know there were tickets about this in the past, but this is 2019 and adfly malware is getting worse. I understand a lot of people here use it, but they may need to find something else to protect users from malware.
set status to Closed, set resolution to Finished. We banned adf.ly use last year from all future download links. All existing links have a dialog that warns visitors about aggressive advertising before they click continue.
Adfly has been a problem for a while with all the malware n stuff. I use Adfocus which is about the same thing without all the extra malware and all that extra stuff. As far as I'm aware, Adfocus is the only alternative to Adfly that has the same purpose.
Adfly sucks. It'll also ask you to accept notifications in which it'll send you (mostly) inappropriate notifications whenever you're browsing the net, just because you wanted to download a single map/skin.
